Hello! 

The Modern Crafter is a small independent business run by sisters Rachel & Siobhán.  We hand design and make by hand punch needle and embroidery kits and pride ourselves on the materials that go into our kits. 

Siobhan is a professional designer completing her fashion and textiles degree at Heriott-Watt University in the borders of Scotland.  Siobhan has over 15 years experience working with many high street retails as a print and pattern designer.  

Rachel is the maker of Siobhan's designs and runs the general day-to-day of the business.

The duo are passionate about providing our customers with a way to explore their creativity. They both believe that creative hands allows your mind to relax.  

The Modern Crafter's kits are accessible for all. Punch Needle is like drawing with wool and embroidery kits mainly focus on 3 beginner stitches so the maker can enjoy the mindful process with the outcome of a great sense of joy!

They love to teach others punch needle and embroidery through kits and workshops and their book, Punch Needle, 15 contemporary projects.
